If you have a positive working relationship with your manager, you could (quietly) let them know about your plans to resign before doing so formally. Though this can be risky, Klotz’s research found it to be a good move, because it allows your manager to properly prepare for your departure. But if you’re leaving for a competitor, be prepared to be escorted off the premises.

Maintaining your productivity and motivation will prove to your manager and colleagues that you’re a responsible and accountable professional. This will leave a strong lasting impression on your colleagues and make them more likely to refer or recommend you for jobs in the future -- humans have a recency bias where they remember and emphasize the most recent observations about people more than the ones in the near or distant past.
It can be interesting to go against the grain, I know. It can also be tough to admit you're not happy when you have a good paying job (or a job at all depending on the current economy), food on the table, and a roof over your head. Heck, you might even like your co-workers. But something still might not feel right to you. The allure of so-called internet riches is nothing new. At every bend and turn in a gauntlet of online gurus, you'll find internet marketers looking to hype up this supposed dream of making money online or earning passive income while kicking up your feet and letting the cash roll in. While internet marketing doesn't quite work that way, in that you actually do have to put in the work, it isn't too difficult to separate the proverbial men from the boys when it comes to the real online earners.
